At MindTheClub, we believe true privacy is paramount. Our application was built from the ground up with a singular focus: to create a secure and direct line of communication that you, and only you, control.
MindTheClub is an independent project, built from the ground up by a solo developer. It is not backed by a corporation driven by data collection — it exists because private communication should not depend on trusting a server you cannot see or control.
Your data is yours, period. To make this promise absolute, we have not developed a backend application and do not own any physical server infrastructure. Unlike many messaging apps, MindTheClub operates without any central servers to store your conversations or data—not even temporarily. The app relies purely on the client on your Android device. This means your messages exist only on your phone and the phone of the person you're communicating with. If your contact is offline, the message is stored safely on your device and delivered automatically when both devices are online — at no point does message content sit on a server waiting to be picked up.
Our security is built on the robust, open-source WebRTC framework. Every communication is protected by the strong, industry-standard DTLS-SRTP end-to-end encryption protocol. This ensures that only you and the recipient can ever access your messages. To establish this secure connection, we use Google Firebase exclusively for the initial 'handshake' process (known as signaling). Once that connection is made, all of your data travels directly between the two of you, completely peer-to-peer.
